Mutton Curry is the best side dish to be served with rice/roti/paratha Madras Mutton Curry Recipe: To Grind: Coconut (Grated) – ½ Cup Red Chilli – 5 nos Black Peppercorns – ¼ tsp Cinnamon – 1-inch Cloves – 3 nos Cumin Seeds – ½ tsp Poppy Seeds – ¼ tsp Fennel Seeds – ¼ tsp Ginger – 1-inch Garlic – 5 cloves Other Ingredients: Mutton – 500 grams Oil – 2 tbsp Bay Leaf – 1 no Onion – 1 no Red Chilli Powder – 1 ½ tsp Coriander Powder – 1 ½ tsp Tomato – 2 nos Salt – To taste Water – 4 Cups Coconut Milk – 1 Cup Coriander Leaves – 1 tbsp Cooking Instructions: 1. Grind grated coconut with dry red chili, ginger, garlic, black peppercorns, cinnamon, cloves, cumin seeds, poppy seeds, and fennel seeds into a smooth paste, adding a little water. 2. Heat oil in a cooking pot, add the bay leaf, Chopped onions, and fry until brown. Add the spice paste and fry for 15 mins over low heat, adding 2 tbsp of water in between. 3. Add the meat and saute for 5 mins over moderate heat. 4. Add Salt, Chilli powder, and coriander powder. 5. Add tomatoes and saute for another 5 mins. 6. Add 4 cups of water, cover, and cook the curry for 45 mins, until the meat is well cooked and tender. 7. Add coconut milk, simmer for a few minutes. 8. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice/roti/paratha.
